Athletics

I am looking forward to doing athletics tomorrow. I feel nervous and sort of scared. My favorite part is high jump because my legs have got longer.

Time

In Room 7 we have been learning about time.  I have learned my half past and my quarter to's and my minutes past and my minutes to. They help me to tell the time very well.  

Athletics practise

Two weeks ago we did high jump it was my first time doing high jump so when it was my turn i ran and  went a bit crooked but i jumped and then... I landed it yay yay. Last week we did throwing we practiced sitting and throwing at the same time then we practiced on our knees and then on our feet i bent forwards.  I have learned to jump over the bar at high jump doing a scissor jump.

Here I am jumping into the long jump pit.

This week we went out to the long jump pit.To do long jump we need to run, run and step jump and land on two feet and stand there for three seconds with bent legs and then we are done and your arms help you go higher.

Hydro slide

Zooming fast down the hydro slide, zipping, splash, flipping, ZOOMING like a cheetah, getting water in my face! Twirling going up and down. Going side to side then splash at the bottom and then I jumped out and I went back to the warm pool.

Protect Our seas

1.Why is it good to protect ou seas?

3.Do you have to practised to snorkel in the sea?

4.Is it good to see our sea like this?

5.How come if you go to a reserve and it has heaps of junk but if you go to another reserve and that is clean what does that mean?

Paper Planes

As quick as a flash comes a zooming plane on the tennis court. It's spinning like a portal the sharp nose helps it to fly and the wings help it to land and the bottom makes it straight the sharp nose also tells you to where its going when  it crashes it lands on the side. It's shiny as the snow it has a nice body to fly so
perfect that the clear air steers the plane. Then my plane is ready to fly.

Matariki

Last term we celebrated matariki. We made the seven stars of matariki and we made a flax flower

and we peeled kumera and potatoes.  

Mask Reflection

On my mask I put glitterr on the top corners  and I put brown under my eyes. I enjoyed making my mask because I learnt lots about masks at the time so it was a little bit easy for me.

Last week we made masks to represent u. On my mask I  had to go on the computer and type up soccer balls and trace around them and then I coloured them  and then stuck the soccer balls on my mask.
I put a lightsaber on and put beads around my lightsaber  on my background. I put Barcelona stripes
  on it because they are my favourite soccer team and when it was done I waited to wear at our  assembly   

Kidscafe

We have been making tutorials for kids cafe. Kids cafe is when you get to teach other people about something you are interested in.

First of all we got a cup and  write  our name on it then we got a  iceblock stick and tide string on
next we went to our table and then we waited  for Mrs Natusch when she come back she poured sugar
solution in our cups. Last of all we  put it on the window  and  waited for the sun to shine and water to make
it grow.

Glow worm life cycle

This is the glow life cycle. It goes like this.

It starts with an egg. Then the glow worm, then the pupa then an adult fly

And now I will tell you a fact. The glow worm lays about 120 eggs.

Waitomo caves

Yesterday we went to the Waitomo caves. When we got there we had a photo and then we lined up and went  in the caves. We saw  heaps of amazing things. I was feeling happy! There was heaps of stalactites and stalagmites.


Then we  had morning tea  and then we had to look through the museum. Then we had a lesson. I learnt that  caves are formed by water.

Then we we had lunch then we went for a bush walk and then we went to the bus and then we went home.

I slipped on the rope climbing frame and got this wicked rope burn on my neck
at lunch time at school today.

One night I went for a walk in the park with my family. We suddenly fell in  a cave. And a bright  light shined up at a tree and an old house was stuck up a tree. There was a troll in the house. It was a troll who had a bat. If you went near his house he would suck your blood.
